TM Gallery info The Ismere Diploma (TM 382809) is a deed on parchment written in 736 preserved in a contemporary manuscript which is now in the British Library. It records the endowment by Ethelbald king of Mercia of a considerable area of land near Ismere, current Kidderminster, not far from Birmingham. The beneficiary, a certain Cyneberht, was supposed to set up a minster, a settlement of clergy living a communal life, using the land for its upkeep and praying for the king in return.
