Metadata databases such as Trismegistos Texts and partner projects as a rule abbreviate bibliographic references. These abbreviations are often somewhat cryptic for the user, especially in an interdisciplinary environment where not everyone is familiar with the conventions of related fields of research. For this reason we have started creating a bibliographic database TM Bib which on the one hand resolves many of the short references used in Trismegistos, but on the other hand also wants to facilitate the search for texts edited in a specific publication. Currently some 75000 of the 150000 publications entries are connected with a detailed bibliographic reference. As such TM Bib does not claim or even aim at being an exhaustive database where all articles and books related to late period Egypt can be found.
