Latin abbreviations

Abbreviations of individual words (for clusters, see the box below)

Abbreviation (single word):	exact
	Search for the abbreviation of a single Latin word, e.g. 'M' or 'DM'. Please note that you will only find combinations of a single word and an abbreviation: in this case the most common solution for 'DM' will be 'Deum'. If you uncheck the 'exact' box, willcards will be added before and after the search string, and all abbreviations for single words including an M will be found, including e.g. 'IMP' for 'imperatori'. If you want to add standard MySQL wildcards yourself, e.g. %, leave the 'exact' box checked. If you are uncertain whether DM is not in fact an abbreviation of multiple words, use the search for clusters below.
Abbreviated word:	exact
	Search for the full form of the word that has been abbreviated, e.g. 'Marcus' or 'consulibus'.
Number of characters:	Minimum number of characters omitted:
	Number of characters restricts the search to abbreviations of a specific length, e.g. 1 for all abbreviations consisting of a single character such as M for Manibus. Minimum number of characters omitted restricts the search to abbreviations shortening the full form by at least the number specified, e.g. 5 for abbreviations omitting at least five characters such as AN for annorum.
Frequency higher than:
	Restrict to a minimum frequency for the combination of abbreviation and abbreviated word. Can also be used without filling in any of the other fields to find the most common abbreviations.

Abbreviation clusters of multiple words
e.g. 'D M S' for 'Dis Manibus Sacrum' or 'KAL IAN' for 'Kalendas Ianuarias'

» Fill in one or more of the following search criteria
Abbreviation (cluster):	exact spaces relevant
	Search for a cluster of abbreviations (multiple abbreviations for individual words in a row). If you add spaces (not at the end), e.g. 'D M', these will be taken into account provided the 'spaces relevant' box is checked. The most common solution will in this case be 'Dis Manibus' if the 'exact' box is checked, followed by 'dolo malo'. If the exact box is unchecked, the second result will be 'Dis Manibus sacrum', because now all abbreviation clusters including 'D M' are also listed. If you uncheck the 'spaces relevant' box and do not add spaces, e.g. 'DM', you will find all possible solutions for the cluster exclusively consisting of D followed by M, at least if you leave exact on. This will include 'Dis Manibus' as well as 'deum', but not 'Dis Manibus sacrum'. If you uncheck 'exact', 'Dis Manibus Sacrum' will again be included in the results. Finally, if you type spaces and uncheck the 'spaces relevant' box, the spaces will be automatically removed from your search query.
Abbreviated word cluster:	exact
	Search for the full form of a series of words that has been abbreviated, e.g. 'Marci filius' or 'vivus fecit'.
Frequency higher than:
	Restrict to a minimum frequency for the combination of abbreviation and abbreviated word. Can also be used without filling in any of the other fields to find the most common abbreviation clusters.
