TM Arch id: 708
Protagonist: Psenenteris son of Panouphis (Go to TM People)
Description: Archive of mainly burial tax receipts issued to Panouphis son of Petenephotes (four receipts, 270-266 BC) and his son Psenenteris (ten receipts, 264-259 BC). The link between father and son is ensured by the acquisition history of the ‘certain’ ostraca: their receipts are part of a small collection of ostraca transferred from the New York Historical Society to the Brooklyn Museum in 1937; no other ostraca from the NYHS are known for the Theban area. The protagonists belong to a family of mortuary priests and the son is also found in ostraca which are not part of the archive, a.o. lists of names (TM Per 460463). Psenenteris is most probably the brother of Thotsytmis, protagonist of the tax receipts archive TM Arch 678, and the fafther of Panouphis son of Psenenteris, the protagonist of the papyrus archive TM Arch 447.
Studies: O. Chicago Muhs, 2005, p. 115-6 and 123-4 (taxpayer 12 and taxpayer 17); O. Edgerton, 2021, p. 23 (list of attestations of Psenenteris); Muhs in Fs. Martin, 2022, p. 125-129.
