there is much discussion about the identity of the “Zenodotoi’ and their authorship of the works listed here; the most famous one is Zenodotos of Ephesos (978), the head of the library of Alexandria, is generally ruled out; Zenodotus of Mallos (8202) is sometimes considered another possibility
