TM Gallery info The Sarcophagus of Chrodoara (TM 208658) is a limestone coffin with a Latin inscription dated to around AD 730. In combination with the relief of a human figure, the inscription identifies a woman called Chrodoara. She was a noblewoman who lived in the 6th to 7th century, and after the death of her husband she moved to Amay where she founded a monastery. She gave her name to the local 'Church of Saint George and Saint Ode', and in 1977 her sarcophagus was discovered during excavations under the choir.
