Stable URI (with TM ID): www.trismegistos.org/text/227692

also known as Tabula Contrebiensis; Botorrita II

TM Gallery info Botorrita II (TM 227692) is the only Latin one of a set of bronze tablets from Botorrita near Zaragoza. Found in an illegal excavation, it was confiscated in 1979 and ended up in the local museum in nearby Zaragoza, Spain. The precisely dated text (15 May 87 BC) relates how the senate of Contrebia Belaisca (= Botorrita) was asked to arbitrate in a conflict between local tribes about the digging of a canal.
