also known as Breathing Permit of Hor; Hor Book of Breathing
TM Gallery info The Breathing Permit of Hor (TM 48570) is a late Ptolemaic papyrus with a so-called Book of Breathing, a funerary composition from the later periods of Egyptian history. It is famous because it is part of the so-called Joseph Smith Papyri, once owned by the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The papyrus was amongst those believed by Smith to contain an autograph account by Abraham of his life. Smith's 1835-1842 translation was canonized in 1880 as the Book of Abraham. It now resides in Salt Lake City.
