TM Gallery info The Vehamor Gospel (TM 869681) is an Armenian gospel which has not yet been the object of scholarly investigation, but which is claimed to date from the 7th century. Around the end of the 13th century, it was acquired by the monastery of Havuts Tar, and during subsequent centuries it traveled around, including to Azerbaijan. Since 1975 it is kept at the Matenadaran (the Armenian word for 'library') institute in Erevan, which can trace its history back all the way to AD 405, the same time the Armenian alphabet is said to have been created. The codex is used to swear in Armenian presidents since 1991. Its name is a rendering of vehamayr, 'on behalf of his mother', according to the French Wikipedia in honor of the 'mother of the Catholics', Bucharester Siranouich Paloutchian (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Évangile_Vekhamor).
