Wigbald Gospels

The Wigbald Gospels (TM 851651 ) is a 9th century Latin New Testament manuscript, presumably written in Ireland or Britain on the basis of the style of its decoration. The manuscript was in possession of Cardinal Barberini (hence its other name Barberini Gospels) and moved to the Vatican in 1902, where it still is now. The book takes its name from the colophon ora pro Uuigbaldo or 'pray for Wigbald'.
