Yavne-Yam Ostracon

The Yavne-Yam Ostracon (TM 865205 ) is a pottery sherd inscribed with a petition in Hebrew, probably dated to the 7th century BC. It was named after the place where it was found under the floor of a house, and is now in the Israel Museum in Jeruzalem.
The text complains about the according to Biblical law illegal confiscation of a garment, and may contain the earliest non-biblical reference to the Sabbath as a day of rest.
